The Artist
Richard Murer was born in Locarno on November 8, 1967. In 2003 he began to be passionate about the artistic working of glass thanks to the meeting with the Master Glassmaker Camilla Quadri, owner of Claro’s “Vitrearius Magister” Atelier. During his long collaborative “apprenticeship” in the atelier, Richard realizes more than 300 objects in glass fusion, as well as preparatory drawings for leaded windows, glass sculptures and trophies. The collaboration with the Atelier Vitrearius Magister ends in 2013.
After 4 years of “hibernation”, the return in the summer of 2017! New atelier in Claro, new promoter (Richard Glassware Sagl), but same great overflowing passion! In addition, Richard Murer expands his techniques, enriching them with “contaminating” external elements such as aluminum or steel.
The works are one-of-a-kind, rigorously handmade with Float glass and pigments, with the exception of a few exceptions where specific glass is used for glass fusion.
“One-of-a-kind” means that only one specimen is made per design and size. The materials used for the construction of the works are of the highest quality and non-toxic.
Each work is signed by the artist and is accompanied by a guarantee of authenticity. “Richard” is a registered trademark. More information on the website www.richardglassware.com.
